What's up on Campus?

As a student of math, physics or computer science you want to know what’s going on. You spend thousands of hours on campus, in the faculty and with your fellow students. But how are you supposed to know what’s going on in your “second home” in Garching??
We at the Fachschaft give you all this information. We keep you up-to-date, entertain you and feed your curiosity. Where? Via our social media channels! Only somehow there are so many of them that you quickly lose track of them. Today we would like to introduce you to our different communication channels, with their subtle differences: Facebook, Telegram, Twitter and Instagram.
“Facebook is so 2010”, you often hear - we still find it practical. On facebook.com/FSMPI.TUM we mainly post events and updates about them. There are also longer informative texts and explanations about what’s happening at the whole university and especially in Garching.
The same in short can be found on Twitter. Instead of explaining forever, our posts on twitter.com/MPI_TUM mostly consist of one sentence, one link and two cool hashtags. The content, like on Facebook, are events, announcements or reminders of deadlines like feedback or exam registration.
Less serious and even more social is what Instagram is all about. On our way to the influencer-community we share photos of our best events here - the Winter Ball, the SchachTUMnier, game nights and much more. There’s even room for fun posts here! For entertainment and good pictures, follow us on Insta.
If you really only want to know the most important things in a compact and direct way, then our Telegram Newsletter is the right thing for you. Like your favorite news app, but less intrusive, you’ll receive all the important news and reminders directly to your mobile phone. Be informed in real time, on t.me/fsmpi
Now you know our four ways to get the latest news from Garching, from TUM or from the faculty. But what if you want to know more? As natural scientists we want to get to the bottom of things. That’s why we have this blog, which provides you with articles with more insights on various topics. On the other hand, the student council is always there to help you. You can ask us questions at mpi.fs.tum.de/contact , whatever is on your mind!
Last but not least, all I have to say is: Follow us on social media!
