Rätseladventskalender - Registration + 1st Task

The Event Unit of the FS MPI is organizing a puzzle advent calendar for all students of the faculties of mathematics / physics / computer science at TUM this year. Starting on Sunday, November 28th, 2021, a puzzle or a task will be published on the FS MPI website every Sunday at 2 p.m.. Registration and solutions to the tasks are submitted using a form that is hosted on the RBG server (for data privacy reasons). The correctness and submission time are important for scoring.

To participate, you have to form a group of 3 to 5 students and register using the link: https://nextcloud.in.tum.de/index.php/apps/forms/Y8FjiDfozbHfWAFE.

For registration we will need the names of all team members and an email so that we can contact the groups. The data will be deleted after the end of this event.

1st Task: Heavy Tip

Santa Claus would like to take a break at the elf tavern during a busy day on which he has already bought a lot of Christmas presents. He orders a wheat beer, without alcohol of course (don’t drink and drive!), before he continues with his sledge. But shortly before he wants to leave the tavern, he receives a voice message from his main reindeer Rudolph: “Hi boss, our sled has been spotted because we flew too low because you bought gifts that were heavy above average today. We urgently need to shed ballast so that we can make it over the clouds. Don’t worry … you don’t have to leave that much there … n kilos will be enough. " Santa Claus, who wouldn’t think of leaving presents behind, empties his full wallet into his empty wheat beer glass and decides to leave this money as a tip for the elves. Unfortunately there are no scales in the elf tavern. The tavernkeeper can only tell him that the wheat beer glass weights 428 grams. Can you help Santa Claus estimate the mass of the wheat beer glass and its contents?

Tip: The coins are 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 cents

The solutions should be submitted via the link: https://nextcloud.in.tum.de/index.php/apps/forms/Qo5rj2Qjbc8Rs82i.

The Event Unit wishes you a lot of fun solving the tasks.
