Cryptoparties: encrypt email, how to do it?

Cryptoparties: encrypt email, how to do it?

E-mails are like postcards, they say. If they are not encrypted, they can be read: by the “e-postman,” i.e., the e-mail provider, among others, or other unwanted third parties (criminals, NSA, BND). Gmail, for example, automatically “reads” the e-mails of its users in order to display customized advertising. To prevent all this, you can either stop writing e-mails or encrypt them. Two standards (S/MIME and OpenPGP) are currently competing here, but unfortunately they cannot communicate with each other.

Missing root certificate on Android

Missing root certificate on Android

Heise and other media recently reported a security vulnerability under Android that has probably been known for quite some time. Android users who use the eduroam WLAN network should install Telekom’s root certificate, otherwise their device will connect to any access point called eduroam without checking. This way, attackers can use a fake access point to spy out the username and password of the LRZ identifier. If you have an Android smartphone or tablet, you can download the root certificate from the LRZ pages: www.
