Study Introductory Days (SET)

Study Introductory Days (SET)

Study Introductory Days (SET)

At the beginning of each semester, the MPIC Student Council organizes an introductory event for the new freshmen (Bachelor and Master), the Introductory Study Days (SET).

The SET for the summer semester 2025 will take place from Tuesday, April 22 to Sunday, April 27. Additionally, we will offer guided institute tours and bar tours in the week prior. They will be held in person, without the possibility to participate online.

Registration: You do not need to register for SET in general, but individual events may require registrations due to a capacity limit. If this is the case, it will be posted here on this page, we will update the information regularly.

We have also written an Erstiguide for you. You can find the newer German version here and the English version of the previous year here.

Help out

Had fun at your own SET and want to help out? Join the SET-Team! As part of our SET playlist you can help planning and conducting the next SET. For example, you could design your own Campus-Rallye station, organize a guided institute tour, or help plan the barbeque. There are many tasks to choose from, and everyone is welcome^^

Interested? Tag along at one of our team meetings. The first two meetings will be on Wednesday, January 15, at 17:00 in Emil-Erlenmeyer Hörsaal, and on Wednesday, January 22nd.

You would like to help out, but cannot join the meetings? No problem, just write us at set@fs.tum.de!

If you’d like to join us as a tutor during the SET, have a look over here for some information on registration and what to expect!

Guided tours of the institutes

Registration for the guided instituter tours are now open. Register here!

We are once again offering guided tours through some of our Campus’s most interesting institutes. The tours are led by the institutes themselves. Because the tours have limited capacity, prior registration is required. This semester’s tours will be in the week from April 14 to April 17.

Bar tours

As an additional offer, for this SET we offer multiple bar tours during the week prior to Easter. Meet some of your new peers, and learn about the best bars in Munich! No registration is necessary, just be there at the designated meeting point and come along! You can find us by our bright, yellow T-shirts!

Tutor-Registration

The registration for SET-tutors will start a few weeks before the start of the SET.

As a SET-tutor, you will help out with the execution of the different SET-event. For exxample, you might guide new students across the campus, help bake pizza or supervise a campus-rallye station.

For further questions regarding SET-tutors, write us at set-tutoren@fs.tum.de.

Contact

If you have any questions or suggestions regarding the SET, you can always contact set@fs.tum.de There you can reach the SET department, which takes care of the planning and implementation of the SET.
