University Election 2026
Your vote matters. Really.
In the university elections, you decide who represents student interests at TUM. The election is about studies, teaching, exams, campus life, and making sure students are visible in important decisions.

Election period
The election period will be added once it is official.
Why Vote?
Many decisions at the university are made in committees. These committees discuss topics that directly affect your everyday study life. The students sitting there can ask questions, make problems visible, and push for improvements.
- Improve studying
Add more student perspectives from lectures, tutorials, practical courses, and exams. - Strengthen students
A high voter turnout gives student representatives more weight. - Make a difference in minutes
Voting only takes a few minutes. The term of office lasts a whole year.
What Is Elected?
In the university election, you can vote for three committees:
- Senate
The Senate discusses central university matters, including statutes, degree programs, and fundamental decisions. - School Council
The School Council decides on topics within the School. This includes local matters such as appointments, changes to degree programs, and much more. - Student Council Representation
The Student Council Representation is your direct student representation on site. It collects problems, talks to the School, and organizes support.
Combined election for School Council and Student Council Representation
The election for the School Council and the Student Council Representation is combined. At first, there are only lists for the Student Council Representation. Seats are then distributed between the lists according to the total number of votes each list receives.
The two/four School Council seats are then assigned to the lists according to a fixed allocation key. Within the lists, the candidates with the most votes become School Council members. If you vote for the list itself instead of an individual person, your vote is distributed among the first four positions on that list.
